Here are some answers to frequently asked questions about how the SmartFix RTK Network service works.
The vast majority of SmartFix sites track GPS, Glonass, Galileo and Beidou satellites which are the most important for RTK positioning. A small number of secondary sites track only GPS and Glonass satellites.
SmartFix is receiver-agnostic. This means any GNSS receiver (including non-Leica receivers) capable of receiving RTCMv3 messages can use SmartFix.

SmartFix reference stations broadcast NZGD2000 coordinates and are typically assigned LINZ 3rd Order accuracy.
The accuracy of your rover is constrained by the precision of your own GNSS rover device and the way in which you use it.
A modern GNSS rover typically specifies the precision for a measured RTK baseline of +/-7mm+1ppm RMS in position, and +/-15mm+1ppm RMS in height. Network RTK solutions are typically +/-7mm+0.5ppm RMS in position, and +/-15mm+0.5ppm RMS in height.
Consult your equipment datasheet for the specific values for your own technology. Note that precision is impacted by many factors related to your rover’s environment and the length of your baseline.
